On Fractional Derivatives and Primitives of Periodic Functions

Abstract

We prove that the fractional derivative or the fractional primitive of a $T$-periodic function cannot be a $\tilde{T}$-periodic function, for any period $\tilde{T}$, with the exception of the zero function.
