2010 STEADY STATES AND STANDING PULSES OF A SKEW-GRADIENT SYSTEM

Abstract

We study a reaction-diffusion system of activator-inhibitor type. Variational and ordered methods are used to obtain the existence of steady states and standing pulses. It will be seen that the diffusion rates seem to play important roles in the existence of standing pulses.
