Abstract

This paper applies J. H. He's homotopy perturbation method (HPM) to calculate the temperature distribution in convective straight fins with temperature-dependent thermal conductivity. The temperature distribution of straight fins is obtained as a function of thermo-geometric fin parameter. Comparison with the exact solution shows that the method is very effective and convenient, only one iteration leads to an accurate solution.
