We prove that the geometric covariogram determines (up to translation and reflection), among all convex bodies, any plane convex body which is $C^2$ and has positive curvature everywhere. This gives a partial answer to a problem posed by G. Matheron.

This is the sequel to the paper [23]. In this paper, we construct the virtual moduli cycles of the degeneration of the moduli of stable morphisms constructed in [23]. We also construct the virtual moduli cycles of the moduli of relative stable morphisms of a pair of a smooth divisor in a smooth variety. Based on these, we prove a degeneration formula of the Gromov-Witten invariants.

We study the $\bar\partial$-Laplacian on forms taking values in L^k, a high power of a semipositive line bundle over a compact complex manifold, and give an estimate of the number of eigenvalues smaller than λ. Examples show that the estimate gives the right order of magnitude in terms of the two spectral parameters k and λ.

Let $\Gamma$ be a subgroup of the group of affine transformations of the affine space $\mathbb{R}^{2n+1}$. Suppose $\Gamma$ acts properly discontinuously on $\mathbb{R}^{2n+1}$. The paper deals with the question which subgroups of $\rm{GL}(2n +1,\mathbb{R})$ occur as Zariski closure $\overline{\ell (\Gamma})$ of the linear part of such a group $\Gamma$. The two main results of the paper say that $\rm{SO}(n + 1, n)$ does occur as $\overline{\ell (\Gamma)}$ of such a group$\Gamma$ if $n$ is odd, but does not if $n$ is even.

This is a continuation of [9], where it was shown that K-equivalent complex projective manifolds have the same Betti numbers by using the theory of p-adic integrals and Deligne's solution to the Weil conjecture. The aim of this note is to show that with a little more book-keeping work, namely by applying Faltings' p-adic Hodge Theory, our p-adic method also leads to the equivalence of Hodge numbers — a result which was previously known via motivic integration.
